For some reason it took until we were gearing up to move to get the mountains (I mean mountains, as in stacked on top of each other mountains) of my mother and step father’s antiques out of this house. They started filling it up with all manner of things that shouldn’t be in here, making it hard for everyone else to live while they’d come up from KC now and then and store yet another thing nobody wants. But a huge lot of us (my step father, a family friend and her sister, my sister and I) are moving as a group to Durango, Colorado and that lit a fire under him but good and he auctioned off the majority of it.
So I finally get to post a few pictures of the blasted Parlor that aren’t stacked sky-high with clutter. It still needs a good dusting, the wood needs to be polished and we’re fitting it for drapes (as well as about to decorate that little Christmas Tree) — but I figured, if I don’t take a few photos now? Step father will show up from KC with another truck load of chairs and magazines to mess it up again! Pardon our dust, but even a little dingy it’s a pretty old house. 🙂
